Frequently Asked Questions

Please message wildandrootedbirthwork@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

I believe every family deserves support, no matter their budget. To make my services more accessible, I offer flexible payment plans before 37 weeks. If you need to break up your total into smaller payments, just let me know—we’ll find an option that works for you.

A doula is a trained professional who provides emotional, physical, and informational support before, during, and after childbirth. I’m here to help you feel empowered, informed, and cared for—whether you’re preparing for labor, navigating birth, or adjusting to life with a newborn. While I don’t replace medical providers, I work alongside them to support you and your choices every step of the way.

A midwife is a medical provider who monitors the health of you and your baby, preforms clinical tasks, and can catch your baby! A doula is not medical - I provide emotional support, comfort techniques, education, and advocacy. My goal is for you to feel informed, calm, and cared for throughout your pregnancy + postpartum journey. Midwives and doulas are not the same but often work together as a beautiful team.

Every birth is unique, and so is your experience of labor. I offer a variety of hands-on, non-medical pain management techniques to help you stay as comfortable as possible. These include:

  • Labor comb – tool that helps redirect pain through pressure points in your hand

  • Acupuncture balls – stimulate calming acupressure points + promote relaxation

  • TENS unit – gentle electrical pulses that provide relief during contractions

  • Counter pressure – targeted touch to ease back labor and tension

  • Heating pad – soothing warmth to relax muscles and ease discomfort

Together, we’ll explore what works best for you in the moment. My goal is to support your body + your choices

Birth is unpredictable, and part of my role is to help you feel supported no matter what direction your journey takes. Whether plans shift due to medical reasons or personal choices. I'm here to provide information, emotional support, and comfort so you still feel calm, respected and empowered in your choices.

Yes! I support both planned and unplanned caesareans, as well as those preparing for a VBAC. My role is to provide encouragement, evidence-based care, and comfort so you feel empowered in your choices and supported every step of the way.
